Allen is a lifelong patient at Straub Medical Center but he really felt the impact of his care after a positive COVID-19 test in the Emergency Department. Allen, who is in his late 70s, says he could have never imagined what would happen next – at the start of the pandemic.

As a not-for-profit medical center, Straub Medical Center relies on the community to fulfill its mission of creating a healthier Hawaii.
