Giving Tuesday 2019

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and serves as a reminder to give back before the holiday season. This special day falls on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. This year, Giving Tuesday will take place on Dec. 3, 2019. Since its launch in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired millions of people around the world to give back to causes and issues they value.

We welcome all gifts to the Foundations of Hawaii Pacific Health for Giving Tuesday. There are a variety of funding opportunities you can find by clicking the medical centers below under “Make A Gift To…”, which takes you to each facility’s donation pages. Some of the big project areas this year are included below.

Pediatric Heart Center, Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children

One in every hundred babies is born with a heart defect and about a third of these babies require catheter or surgical intervention during their first year of life. The new Pediatric Heart Center at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children will bring this specialty care to Kapiolani permanently, creating a state-of-the-art program with a wide range of services to children and young adults with heart defects. This helps reduce the risk, expense and stress of travel.

Cancer Care, Pali Momi Medical Center

The Hawaii Pacific Health Cancer Center at Pali Momi Medical Center is the first and only comprehensive cancer center serving Central and West Oahu. Cancer care funding will create a new multi-disciplinary clinic that will provide additional clinical space for the entire team; expanded research capacity to provide new options for patients; and more opportunities for holistic care including a prosthetic/wig room and massage therapy options.

Cardiology/Heart Care, Straub Medical Center

Each year, over 2,000 lifesaving heart procedures are performed at Straub Medical Center. Straub is committed to renovating and building a state-of-the-art facility, the Clarence T.C. Ching Heart Center. The final two phases of this project consists of renovating and expanding the two cardiac catheterization labs. These projects will provide the latest in technology, minimally invasive procedures and best in class cardiovascular care for our community.

Emergency Room/Trauma Center, Wilcox Medical Center

Wilcox Medical Center has embarked on a campaign to raise funds to upgrade its Emergency Department and expand its trauma services for the Kauai community. While designated as the first Level III Trauma Center on the neighbor islands in 2011, there is a need to continue to invest in the only lifesaving program of its kind on Kauai. The goal of the Emergency Department construction project is to create two trauma resuscitation suites as well as renovate specialty spaces for behavioral health, infectious control, pediatric rooms and OB-GYN care.

Thank you for your generosity and helping Hawaii Pacific Health create a healthier Hawaii!
