Straub Benioff Medical Center Groundbreaking
Hawaii Pacific Health marked a milestone on May 16, 2024, by celebrating the start of construction on the first phase of the multiyear Straub Benioff Medical Center Redevelopment project.
The commemorative ceremony included HPH and Straub Benioff physicians and leaders, state and city officials, and longstanding philanthropists Lynne and Marc Benioff, who donated $100 million toward the redevelopment project. Marc is the chair, CEO and co-founder of Salesforce. The Benioffs’ transformational gift is the largest donation to HPH and one of the largest single private donations in Hawaii history. The groundbreaking ceremony, in celebration of the health care campus of the future, was held where the new 1,600-stall parking building will be located.
