MARRIOTT GOLF/VACATION CLUBS

Many thanks to Marriott Vacation Clubs! In 2016, the company raised over $121,708 for Kapiolani’s Children’s Miracle Network, which is an 11 percent increase from 2015.  Properties hosted golf tournaments, bake sales, auctions, basketball tournaments and more to engage Marriott’s associates, owners and guests.  A special mahalo to all of the fundraising champions at those locations who dedicated so much time to fundraising for Kapiolani Children’s Miracle Network!

HOLOKAI

Holokai Catamaran sailed into the new year with an unforgettable fundraiser for Kapiolani CMN. December 15, Holokai Catamaran hosted a “Boatload of Miracles,” where proceeds from all trips that day benefited Kapiolani.  In addition to the $10,000 donation, the catamaran’s crew invited patients’ families to join them for an extra special sail with Santa! Special thanks to the Holokai Catamaran captain and crew for an extraordinary day.

ACE SHOOTOUT

A shout out to ACE Hardware for many years of support! In January, we celebrated 20 years of miracles with the ACE Hardware Shootout. The Shootout is an annual celebrity golf challenge held at the Mauna Lani Golf Course benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This year, in addition to its wonderful support of the national organization, the ACE Hardware Foundation presented a check for $25,000 to Kapiolani on behalf of Hawaii’s 2016-2017 CMN Hospitals Champion, Julie Kobayashi.  We are truly grateful to our wonderful partners at ACE Hardware for their commitment to Hawaii’s keiki.

EXTRA LIFE

Last fall, over 50,000 people around the world played games to raise money and heal kids. Extra Life is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ fundraiser that empowers the gaming community to make a difference in the lives of local children. Participants fundraise year‐round and during a 24‐hour gaming marathon each fall.

Hawaii’s keiki scored big thanks to 142 gamers who played for Kapiolani Medical Center in 2016 and raised $15,533!  Mark your calendars for November 4 for the next local gaming marathon. Help us reach our 2017 goal of 200 players and $20,000 by signing up to play today at www.extra-life.org

WALMART & SAM'S CLUB

In 2016, Hawaii’s Walmart and Sam’s Club associates raised nearly $160,000 for Kapiolani. Proceeds from the seven-week campaign will help fund a new portable X-ray machine to serve patients who are too fragile to move. The machine will also cut down on image processing time and allow for quick transfer of electronic medical records. The program was part of a national campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which collected nearly $37 million for 170 hospitals across America.

“We’re so pleased to be able to support Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children and its valuable programs each year,” said Steven Reed, Hawaii market manager. “Our store associates enjoy coming up with creative fundraising activities, from food truck events to bake sales, and the outpouring of support from our customers is truly inspiring.”

Thank you Walmart and Sam’s Club associates for your lasting support of our local community!

IHOP

Breakfast fans and Kapiolani supporters enjoyed a deliciously successful National Pancake Day with our IHOP partners on March 7!  The event benefited Kapiolani Children’s Miracle Network.  Seven local IHOP restaurants offered a free short stack of pancakes while raising donations for Kapiolani. 2017 marks 11 years that Hawaii IHOP restaurants have partnered with Kapiolani CMN.  We appreciate all of our IHOP restaurants for the ongoing hard work, enthusiasm and caring for our kids!
