Inspire 2025 ANNUAL DONOR REPORT
CMN: Miracle Moments

Aurelia Awa, in yellow, and her family got a special tour of the Diamond Bakery factory in Kalihi.
In Great Taste
When Diamond Bakery teamed up with Aurelia Awa, 2025 Kapi‘olani Children's Miracle Network Champion, the result was sweet, chocolaty and buttery with a touch of cinnamon.
The local bakery designed special packaging that featured a photo of Aurelia for two of her favorite cookies – chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. A portion of the proceeds from the “Cookies for a Cause” campaign went to Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children.
This was the second partnership between Diamond Bakery and Kapi‘olani. In 2023, Diamond Bakery changed its soda cracker box for the first time in 30 years to showcase then-CMN Champion Kalley-Mae Yee.
Like the first, the second campaign was a tasty success, thanks to Diamond Bakery and local CMN partners, including credit unions, Walmart and Costco, that joined in to help sell cookies all across the islands.
Fundraising Aces
Whether it’s a problem with the house, lawn, car, you name it, Ace Hardware stores have been lending a helping hand for generations. But their helpfulness doesn’t end there. They’ve also been fundraising aces for Children’s Miracle Network.
In July, Hawai‘i’s Ace Hardware stores hosted their 15th annual golf tournament to benefit Kapi‘olani. The event brought together nearly 200 Ace team members, vendors and supporters for a day on the green. They raised $57,000 to fund programs at Kapi‘olani that help kids during some of their hardest moments.
“For us, it’s an easy choice to support Kapi‘olani,” said Guy Kamitaki, Hawai‘i Ace group leader. “So many people have been helped there. We’re fortunate to have Kapi‘olani because otherwise, it would mean traveling to the mainland for care.”

Credit Where Credit is Due
Word spreads quickly in Hawai‘i.
When local credit unions found out that Velera, a credit union service organization, would be giving awards to children’s hospitals nationwide, they got to work.
More than 100 employees at 22 different credit unions submitted nominations for Kapi‘olani. They shared stories of how Kapi‘olani cared for them, their children and family. Many of them gave birth at Kapi‘olani. Others turned to the medical center when their child needed care, whether it was for broken bones or cancer.
With their united support, Kapi‘olani was one of only 20 hospitals in the nation that received a $10,000 Velera Miracle Momentum Award. The funding will benefit several key services at Kapi‘olani, including the Child Life program and rehabilitation therapy.
